February is National Heart Month. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women. You can greatly reduce your risk through a healthy lifestyle. Know Your Numbers:
Throughout February have you blood pressure, height, weight and body mass index checked at locations on and off the main Vanderbilt campus. Participate during the month of February to be entered into a drawing to win one of five FitBit Zip Activity Trackers.

Wear Red Day Lunch and Learn:

Join us to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke. The annual Wear Red Day will offer an informative discussion on how high blood pressure affects heart disease. Learn what you can do to lower your blood pressure! Cheryl Laffer, MD, PhD, FAHA, Professor of Medicine and Director of Hypertension Service will be presenting. Wear red to this event and get a heart-healthy lunch.

Health Plus will offer Know Your Numbers and Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute will offer cholesterol and glucose screening (while supplies last).
