Success Story: Take the Stairs!
LaManda Watson, an Administrative Assistant in the Department of Pediatric Allergy, Immunology, and Pulmonary Medicine, turned a fear into a healthy lifestyle change. LaManda has always been afraid of elevators. She decided to take the stairs to be healthy and to lose weight. Through challenging herself to take the stairs daily, she lost 60 pounds over a 6 month period! She felt so great that she started doing stair climb challenges. She has transformed from never being physically active to doing 5k's, mud races, and other fun events. As cliché as it may sound, LaManda took her health "one step at a time!"
Health Plus encourages you to take the stairs as a way to better your health! Remember to enter in minutes of stair climbing in the Start! Physical Activity Tracker.
